Pram is a squeeze in my car

My partner and I are expecting our first baby and have got the Bugaboo Fox 5. We live in the countryside so an all terrain pram is quite important and the smaller city style ones wouldn’t be very good where we live. I have an Audi A1 sport back and the only way I can fit the bugaboo frame into my car is without the parcel shelf in. I’ve seen online some people fit it in better with the back wheels off but I have not tried this and would rather not have to do this every time I go out 😬😂 Does it matter that the parcel shelf is not in the car when I’m taking the pram out? I can’t see how there would be any room for the pram to move in the boot but want to be sure it’s safe to drive like this whilst my baby is in the back seat of the car. I’m really reluctant to have to buy a bigger car and want to make it work as best as I can. My partner has a bigger car for big outings and I’d only be using my car when it’s just me and the baby during the week.

I have a bugaboo Fox aswell, and unfortunately my parcel shelf had to come out as I have a vw polo! It’s annoying but the only way it works unfortunately! I put the base in first then bassinet on the top, it stays there safely!x

Technically if the parcel shelf isn't in then anything in the boot could become a projectile in the event of a crash and injure the passengers. You can get dog guards that go behind the headrests that are custom fitted to the car so really really solid. We use these for our dogs. Look at travall or guardsman.

Also the fox 5 is great but it's not a compact fold at all 🙃 I have the venicci tinum and it's great off road and a one piece fold when using the seat.

It get a metal dog guard personally x
