Supply decline

My breastmilk supply has significantly declined and I am not engorged anymore even if baby has not been on the boob all day.. I have been drinking a lot of water all day and eating a varied diet. Moreover, the colour of my breastmilk has changed from white to a more murkier colour. What can this mean? Anyone else relate in terms of reduced supply?

The colour change doesn't mean anything specifically.. there are a lot of things that can affect supply including hormones and how you eat.. are you due or on your period? Have you eaten less? If you are pumping, are all your pump parts still ok? Etc etc :)

How do you know your supply has declined? I haven't a clue how much I'm producing so I am curious how people know?! I know you tend not to get engorged as much as your body gets used to breastfeeding. Also breast milk changes colour, thickness, water content, fat content etc as needed for the baby- if it's warm, if they are ill etc.

You won’t be engorged as your body has now regulated milk supply. As long as baby is gaining weight and plenty of wet nappy’s, there won’t be a drop in your supply and you are meeting baby’s needs x
