Breastfeeding and supplementing with formula

If you breastfeed and also give formula what formula are you using? My supply has dropped pretty bad and I don’t think I’ll continue to make enough milk alone. I’m not looking for ways to increase my supply just want to know what you supplement with and how do you use both breast milk and formula together.

We use the Similac 360 care- have not had any issues with it. I can only produce 5-10 oz so we do one or two 5oz bottles based of off of what I managed that day, and every feeding outside of those we give 6oz formula. We always make sure that he finishes the breastmilk bottles and then move on the formula bottles for the rest of the day

Bubs all day long. No gassey issues, no spit up, happy twins! Cleanest formula I’ve found. We use the regular milk version but they do offer an organic and goat milk option.

@Emily thank you for this does he complain about the difference in taste at all? How do you/did you combat that?

@McKenna thank you I’ve never heard of this brand. Do you give breast milk as well?

I use kendamil, I only really give him it when I’m away at work. Otherwise I breastfeed him. I’ve tried other formulas and have found it makes him very gassy.

@Anahi thanks I heard of kendamil how do you prepare it when you’re away? I heard you have to boil the water for each feed? I want to be able to premake bottles for daycare

I use distilled water. It’s a one to one formula. I make them in the morning and leave them at the back of the fridge and when they are ready to give him the bottle they will just warm it up for him. It’s been working out great honestly. I know some people make a big batch and have people just pour it when needed but I try to make it easier on who ever is watching my son and just then ready in the bottle.

I did! Not so much at this point as my twins have started transitioning off breastfeeding. We also used Kendamil But switched to bubs because of price in my town. It’s also an awesome formula! I’m in Atlanta Georgia.

Thank you ladies @Anahi @McKenna

We use Kabrita! We were going to use Kendamil, but it goes out of stock very often where I live, and we didn't want to risk it. I do 3 ounces of formula with 4 ounces of breastmilk

With kendamil I noticed it has a 1:1 ratio instead of 1:2. So will baby need less oz of formula than they would take breast milk? Or should I give the same oz as I would with his breast milk? He currently drinks 5oz of breast milk per feed

We slowly started with the formula, 1 ounce, then 2 now 3, sometimes 4. I was worried about her stomach getting upset. I only do 4 ounces of breastmilk because that's how we froze it, and I haven't figured out how to thaw half out and keep it good in between feeds 🤣🤣

When I started supplementing w formula I was worried about microplastics. We get 5 gallon jugs delivered to our house and then we filter the water for baby with Clearly Filtered water jugs. I’ve tried 5 different formulas. She couldn’t have any of the high quality ones like Kandamil. I don’t like bubs ingredients bc they have canola oil and soy. I started ordering a Dutch hypoallergenic formula from Germany called HIPP. You can get it 3rd party at Formuland .com or Organicsbest .com HIPP has a German formula and a Dutch- I like the Dutch ingredients better even tho they’re both made in Germany. 🇩🇪
