Confused by gov funding

I’ve done so much reading but I cannot for the life of my know if we’ll be entitled to the childcare funding so can someone help please I know she will start the term after she’s 2 which will be September this year But are we actually eligible for it? My husband works full time (about £32,000 a year which is due to go up in April) I do not work and on universal credit potentially adding pip to not sure if this matters or not When do I apply? Do I apply first then contact the setting?

Is this for the free 15/30 hours? If so you both have to be working I believe x

You may get a golden ticket but you will need to qualify. You can check this on your local council website if you search golden ticket. I'm pretty sure the household earnings have to be quite low, something like 16k a year and on UC to qualify. I work in funding for a chain of nurseries x

My little boy is entitled to free 15 hours and I don't work but his dad does :) get your partner to do the application as it'll need his details and NI number :) xx

@charlotte 15 hours yeah x

@Sarah I will have a look at this thank you x

@Symone did you apply through your council? Is it too early for my to apply now cause if we get it we won’t be entitled until September x

You do it through the childcare funding thing on gov I believe!! You will get 15 hours free now I believe but defo worth checking it out xx

It's too early to apply, you have to wait till a month before the end of the term i.e June. If you call child tax choices they may be able to advise you further

You can also get advice fromva linked benefits advisor at your local children's centre they are really great and you can drop in or book and see them for a one to one to discuss any questions.
