16 week midwife appointment

My midwife didn’t offer us the opportunity to listen to the baby’s heartbeat at our 16 week midwife appointment, is that normal in Nottingham? I know friends elsewhere who got to do this.

First time I listened to my baby’s heartbeat at my 20 week appointment in QMC when it was my first Anomaly Scan.

Yes that's normal for Nottingham. You should get to listen to it at your next midwife appointment.

I have mine tomorrow. But asked at 10 weeks (also in Nottingham) and my midwife said they don’t usually offer it as it can be hard to find and can downtime cause more worry than needed x

Yes theu stopped offering so early because they can be hard to find and then causes more stress

I listened to my little boys heartbeat it was ment to be my 16 weeks appointment but had it at 17+6 due to Xmas , they don’t normally ask but if you ask them then they will listen they will just tell you about how it’s hard to find sometimes and would you be ok with that or will it cause more anxiety x

I’m in Nottinghamshire and the first time I got to listen to baby’s heartbeat was last week at my 25 week midwife appointment. I didn’t ask to hear it earlier as I know it can be hard to find and sometimes they don’t like to do it can it can cause stress if they aren’t able to find it (but it’s still there) x

I didn't get offered this at my 16 week appointment. I'm under beeston north for midwives, I also didn't get to listen at the 20 week scan but this was Derby so I guess it must just be the area.
