Folley balloon induction
I’ve been booked for folley ballon induction on Thursday morning I will be 41+5. I’m currently 2-3cm dilated - was informed folley will be inserted and I’ll be sent back home but if I’m more dilated they might decide to go via different route such as breaking my waters. What are your stories with folley balloon induction?

I had the balloon last Friday and it failed completely. It did nothing and was a complete waste of 24hours sat in hospital. They then inserted the gel and I gave birth within 6 hours of having it!!!
I had the balloon and it did nothing but i was sent home with it so no harm in trying, it wasn’t terribly uncomfortable x

With my last baby I was 1-2cm so they skipped the balloon and went straight to breaking my waters and my baby was born 8 hours later, I was in active labour within an hour of my waters being broken and was able to use the pool. Could you ask to skip the balloon and go straight to breaking waters? I was 42+1 so similar to you and that did the trick on its own 😃 was a positive birth x
