Early Delivery!

Meet Luke 💙 My late Feb baby became an early Jan baby! Born 7 weeks early due to a placental abruption at 3lbs 13oz. He is in the NICU until Thursday, but is doing extremely well! Came out breathing on his own and able to take bottles right away, just needed careful monitoring to make sure his health didn’t turn. Feeling very blessed!

Aww my baby girl was 4 weeks early due to the same placenta abruption she was 4lb 1oz we were lucky she didn’t need NICU we got put in a transitional care room which meant if she needed any support they could have done it there and I didn’t have to leave her x

My daughter was born 35weeks and 6 days and didn’t need NICU as she was able to feed and regulate her temperature she was a wee fighter I live in Scotland maybe different here

@Abby not what I was told. My boys have been but I was told once they met 4 goals (weight 4lbs, breathing on their own, feeding atleast 80% by mouth for 3 days, and regulating temperature) they could go home

Congratulations ❤️
My baby girl was born 34+ 2.She was 2kg 175g She spend 3 weeks in NICU due to feeding problem, she didn’t know how to take bottle or breast. So we did breastfeeding ,feeding tube, bottles until she learned . We did not have health problems. Now she is 6 months old 🥰

not true. My daughter was born before 37 weeks and we went straight to the maternity ward and then went home. Sometimes babies are only needed to be in the nicu to be monitored for a few days before it’s okay to leave

I’ve known many people who had babies 35-36 weeks and didnt have their little ones stay in NICU for a month.

bleeding. Happened very quickly! Fortunate my OB decided to perform the C section before he was in distress ❤️

Avatar

the criteria minimum is 35 weeks gestation, breathing on own, eating on own, and gaining weight❤️ he is now 5.5lbs. Way above birthweight 😊 This is my 3rd preterm/premature baby (had twins prior).

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.
