I had an “emergency” c section for other reasons, and although considered an emergency it was calm process, we went down to theatre no stress etc - over all the experience didn’t feel like an hour what so ever, I felt like I was laying down 20 mins before baby girl was born and next thing you know we was being wheeled round to recovery with the baby. The first week is definitely hard, due to having trouble moving so definitely take any support you have. After about 2 weeks I was getting back to the usual routine but having to remember I’ve just had surgery and to slow down. They give you pain meds to help which I found definitely helped but I stopped taking them around after a week because I found it was making me too drowsy and if I was alone with the baby I was falling asleep but each to their own with that. Good luck girlie xx
I'm 3 weeks post-unplanned section and surprised by how quickly I've recovered. The first few days were tough but within a week I was going out for walks and I did an hour round trip walk at the weekend no problem. I'd recommend getting a litter picker to help you when you've dropped stuff in those early days and keep things within reach..always have water and snacks, your phone, and a remote by you 🤣.
The C section itself is a very calm experience. Your completely pain free during the procedure and you meet your baby really quickly♥️ I’m now 5 days post C section and I’ve been slowly mobilising around since the same evening X
@Skye thanks for telling me this it’s really helping me calm down a bit
