Anyone else charge postage and packaging for buying presents?

For example my mum brought me a birthday present and then messaged me asking for money for the postage and packaging? When I buy presents for people I don’t ask them for money for it.

If someone asks me to buy a gift for their significant other or for someone to give someone else I'll ask for postage but if I'm sending a gift straight to the person from me, I won't

That’s ridiculous 😂 if your buying someone a present, you don’t ask them to contribute financially towards it

No that’s weird. If she wants to send you something, she should pay the fee x

That’s weird. I just take it out of the overall price of the gift, so if it’s £25 I spend on someone, and the gifts £20, and postage £5, then that’s their total present. If someone asked me to pay for postage I’d firstly tell them where to go, and secondly tell them I don’t want a gift from them anymore x

I’d tell her to keep it 😂. You wouldn’t buy a gift online and then messaged to say ‘you need to pay for postage’ Like what the hell 😂😂 xx

Absolutely bizarre. Perhaps ask her for postage and packing on her next gift and see if she gets the message.

Wtf. No. That's insane behavior. If I know I'm going to have to package and mail it then that cost would be considered with the overall gift.

She sounds like the term Indian giver will give something and then ask for it back, honestly I wouldn’t even accept if it’s not it the realm of coming from your heart and you need my chips then you can keep the gift for yourself; that’s me

What 🤣

Oh come on

What?!? I’ve never heard of this!!! If it’s a gift the whole thing is a gift including the postage and packaging.
