Changes at nursery

Nursery changed my daughters key worker without telling me. I noticed since a few weeks that another staff member was collecting and bringing my child and that the same staff member was doing all the updates in the app. This person was in another room first so now she is in my daughter’s room. When I saw her key worker today i just randomly asked are you still her key worker she said no it’s the other person now. I said when did this happened I didn’t know anything may I ask why. Her answer was because the other person is more mature. No other explanation and she was hesitating to tell me. Lots of things changed after the Christmas brake but nobody told me anything about the changes.

The other person is more mature? What an odd response to give .. I'd speak to the manager

@Ellie yes I know when I asked what do you mean now she said yeah she now the team leader and is more mature, I felt like she was about cry when she was saying this I kinda felt bad but also like why isn’t anybody informing me about things

Nurseries tend to be quite toxic places to work unfortunately, sounds like she was saying that out of spite they must have upset her. Them not informing you of the change also speaks volumes, clearly not a professional work place.

I would email and ask why you wasn’t informed and explain you want to know about any changes to your childs routine/nursery life in future for sure

As a nursery teacher myself, I know at my work setting we have a review once a year and discuss a potential room change but if that does happen. We make all our parents aware in our parent group chat with the room new members of staff and their new key workers. But they should just change it without telling the parents that’s not right unless they forgot to but that seems a little odd. I would speak to the manager and ask why there was no communication about it x
