Tablet Recommendations (UK)

I’m looking for tablet recommendations for my 18 month old. It’s only going to be used for long car journeys or in restaurants where all other entertainment (books, toys, colouring etc) have been exhausted. He had a meltdown in the pub yesterday during a family birthday meal and I was absolutely mortified. A lovely couple came over to distract him and the lady offered YouTube on her phone which settled him. I need to be able to use BBC iPlayer and YouTube apps on it. Any suggestions?

hey 🤍 the amazon fire tablets are a great first tablet and it’ll grow with him as he gets older. they come with really good sturdy cases as well x

Amazon tablet is.good but doesn't support YouTube kids. Samsung does a.kid section on their tablets and will let you modify/add any apps you want need.

What is he watching on youtube as i know some programs are so addictive children go through withdrawals resulting in tantrums and episodes. Best to keep tv, tablet etc off until theyre 2 x

@Kiera-Marie He watches Ms Apple or Ms Moni, only one episode max a day and sometimes no TV at all. Cocomelon is banned in our house! 😂

@Rasa Oh that’s disappointing that it doesn’t have YT Kids!

@Jade Thanks, these are what I’ve been looking at 😊 I think a Samsung tablet might be a better option for him as the Fires don’t support YouTube Kids 😕

Amazon tablet is great but u would suggest to remove YouTube and YT kids is creepy too, in the tablet there are enough games, and videos appropriate for children that your little one won't need YouTube. I found YouTube having too many creepy content even aim for children
