Babies don't independent play until 9 months. You can use a boppy to help sit him up. Or you can get one of the jumpers/ seats with an activity center to help give yourself a few min
@Monique yes this buys me a few minutes
Some babies independently play earlier than others and some play later which is completely normal. My baby is seven months and she plays by herself all the time which is nice, but also some babies only like certain toys and will only take certain interest. She's just begin crawling and it's always a heck of a time lol I would get a jumper or or maybe baby wear!
I feel like it just gets different! Our little boy is almost 7 months and sits/plays independently but he also pulls to stand and climbs all over things so it’s a new concern even though he will play alone.
My daughter was the worst at this stage! It took her 12 months and even then I couldn’t get more than 5 min maybe. So hard. Now she goes 3-4 hours and I come bug her lol it seems forever but goes fast!
My baby is 6mo she can sit up if i sit her up. I put her on her mat, and she'll play with her toys for about 20 minutes before she's over it. She also has a jumper, but I try not to leave her in it too long. I only put on the TV if I'm about to pull my hair out from frustration, lol.
In the same boat but with a 4 year old too. This is such a difficult stage. It absolutely doesn't feel like it right now, but in the grand scheme of things it's a short period of time, and things will get easier. They need us so so much right now and I'm trying to savor it. It's hard to see it right now, but we will miss these days.
