Make sure it’s all about them, do something special just mom dad and kiddo. get them a present from “baby” and a card from baby that says happy birthday I’m so excited to meet you etc, get them excited to have a new baby and start letting be involved in the everyday normal baby stuff like showing the pumps and baby diapers etc.
@Kiki that’s so special! Thank you 🥹
@Kaelin that’s brilliant! Thank you!
I am 26 weeks pregnant and my due date is right by my daughter’s second birthday as well! We are going to make sure that we do all birthday celebrating separately and since they are only turning 2 I feel as though it’s a little easier now but I’m also just reading these for tips as well hehe!
@Isabelle Aww congrats! That’s so exciting!
I only have 1 daughter and that’s what my husband and I have always done. On our daughter’s actual birthday, we open gifts, sing happy birthday, decorate the house a little bit, and I bake a banana bread (her favorite thing in the world) and then on the weekend we do something bigger with family. And it doesn’t have to be huge. Get some balloons and one of those Happy birthday signs from the dollar store, some paper plates, a cake from Walmart and some takeout. For one, your kid is 2 so they’re not entirely gonna remember the birthday. And 2, as long as your kid feels loved and celebrated there’s no reason to go all out for family. You’re catering to your child, not the adults. Had to learn that lesson the hard way after my daughter’s second birthday party went off track
