Flashcards

Am I supposed to start introducing flashcards like ABC and 123 to my 6 month old? My friend has a child the same age and she already started. Am I behind? 🤨 .... I've been focusing on helping my baby learn to crawl.

Lol, if my almost 7 month old gets ahold of my almost 2 year old’s flash cards, she just eats them. Babies this age definitely do not need them yet.

I have a 7 mo and learning how to eat, sleep and crowl it’s already a lot. I don’t think at this age their brains are ready to learn letters and numbers, but I might be wrong 🙄

Thanks I thought I was missing something I should be doing right now.

I show my boy picture flash cards but no numbers or letters 🙃

Way to early for that

@Lauren yea I did those black and white contrast cards when he was younger and then the ones with color.

Oh no you’re not behind at all. You’ll just know when your baby is ready to learn ABCs and counting, honestly likely closer to 18 months old. Go at your baby’s pace, all children learn so differently. And flashcards aren’t necessarily the best way to educate them anyway

Honestly I saw something recently where some were saying to not do flash cards at all and just do real life objects. No clue how true that is
