Your feelings are valid as a mother, and I’m sure when I get to that stage I’ll feel similarly, but these things happen. I don’t work at a nursery but I do work at primary school some children bump their heads daily. At toddler age, they’re still learning social boundaries etc. As long as the nursery is keeping you informed and watching your son after he bumps his head, then it’s okay imo.
Yeah they told me about it. But I would like to know, why are they allowing them to run riot around the place & leaving it until someone bumps their end to put a stop to it 😞
Plus one nursery teacher told me he was pushed by another child and the other nursery teacher told me a different story without mentioning he was pushed
It could be that they weren’t running for long and that they were reprimanded for running. It’s tricky to control toddlers to that degree as I’m sure you know! But I completely understand your concern. It’s a little annoying that you got slightly different stories. There would be no harm in approaching the nursery about your concerns but it’s more likely than not going to happen again x
Possibly it must be the same child that pushed him the last time.. & the same table he fell into. Just don’t want it happening a 3rd time and it being really serious. My sons had a difficult night trying to get him off to sleep tonight his uncomfortable with the pain poor thing
I used to work in nurseries and though it's not unusual it's definitely not normal. Sounds like the environment needs looking at to prevent this happening again
There’s been several incidents that have happened at my son’s daycare and I have had to have many conversations with them about it. Fortunately they have listened to my concerns and some changes have been made. They told me they would rather me come forward with my concerns than keep quiet. It’s just so hard. I understand and also want my kid to be safe at the same time.
Thanks for the replies ladies. I’m going to have a chat with them about it so it hopefully doesn’t happen again
His got a large swelling on the back of his head as well 😢
