Breastfeeding Mum’s

My little boy is 16 months & I am still bfeeding him. I LOVE the bond & I know he loves the comfort. He has milk in the morning & before bed. But he wakes 1,2,3 times in the night every night & that is all he wants. How can I break this habit? Has anyone else had any luck? I have tried other ways to comfort him and so has my bf but he just kicks off till I give in. I don’t know what to do 😩 does anyone have any advice please?

We started offering water instead, he's not so happy about it... but he's settling without. We introduced this at the same age as your son. I kept the 1 feed during the night (e.g. midnight) because I've heard that's normal for 16m.

Same as Katy, sometimes he does kick off too but I work 2 nights a week so he had to get used to being comforted by his Dad in other ways. It's not nice at all hearing him cry but he's not alone, he's with his Dad xx

I’ve been slowly taking a night feed away, one by one, my boy gets really sad if I pick him up and don’t feed at first. But I’ve noticed that after 3 nights he’s got more used to it and doesn’t expect at that time anymore x

I have recently stopped breastfeeding and everyone told me that he will sleep very well after. However, his sleep didn't get better it just take me longer now to get him back down without the breast
