There’s core competencies and standardized tests still

Homeschooling in the states all varies by what state you are in.

It varies by state, you still have to meet all the education requirements of the state, there’s typically no requirement of standardized testing unless your children were at one time enrolled in the public school system tho

Basically yes. Every state has different requirements. Here is a YouTube video on it. https://youtu.be/lzsZP9o7SlI?si=MIRPkGdVPM4fHp54

Yes and no - a high school diploma or GED is required in most states, some states may have a college degree requirement, I’m not positive! Tests and things required of homeschooling are dependent on state. Check out hslda for your states requirements. You can choose whatever you want to teach, unschool, or use a curriculum.

My son was homeschooled due to Covid until 8th grade but it was through the school system.

It depends on the state some states are more strict then others as far as testing is concerned particularly if you’re wanting them to go to college you would prepare for it just as kids within the school system do via programs like Kaplan the Princeton review etc coupled with various other programs / alternatives . As far as curriculums are concerned again it depends on the state some are strict and require a structured curriculum and others don’t and allow unschooling etc
