Night Sleep!

I’m pretty sure it’s the 4 month sleep regression but I’m really looking for any help or advice as I’m a FTM and definitely winging it. Previous to the regression we were having sleep 10pm-6am with no night feeds and 4 naps a day. He’s now 5months old and still naps in his pram 3 times a day and always does one long nap of 2 hours in the afternoon. Bed time is between 7-8pm- and he normally goes down ok. For the last 2 weeks he wakes up every 40 minutes- we do occasionally get 3 hour stints (if we are lucky) and I’m now back to feeding multiple times in the night. How often should I be offering the night feeds? Every 2/3/4 hours? Am I creating the habits again or is he actually hungry. He’s EBF. Should I go back to 4 naps a day? He was always fighting that last nap so we brought bed time earlier and dropped it. He’s not teething (parent is a children’s dentist). Any advice greatly appreciated!!

Hiya in the night give your baby boiled water from a kettle and cool it down to milk temperature you give your baby then give him it he may just need a drink because he’s thirsty I did that with my baby and I also changed my baby’s nappy and he went back to sleep after and slept for another 3-4 hours x Hope this helps x

No advice just to say I'm going through the same. My lo is waking every hour with occasional 3hr stint. We are on week 4 of this... Also EBF and he would only calm down on the boob or if I rock him. Either way it's exhausting 🥴

It's so hard to know what to do in these phases, but I always offer the breast if it's been 2/3, hours, but offer other ways to soothe if sooner (rocking etc). It is very normal at this age to still need feeding through the night, and in my experience this need varies over the first year (growth spurts, developmental changes etc). However, just my view point as someone who feeds responsively & has never skeep trained - sure there are other routes that may lead to better/more consistent sleep! We're in the same position currently & it's rough, think I'm on my 6th wake up since 10pm (lost count!!). But, the big thing I learnt with my first is that no phase lasts forever & things do get better 🙏🙏 Wishing you sleep soon!
