Napping advice!

My LO is 3 months old, I need advice for nap time 🩷 baby girl refuses to sleep unless it’s a contact nap and I need advice on how to help baby sleep better! She is not easy to get down and only goes to sleep in the rocking chair and if we try to nap in the crib she wakes up within 20 minutes. She sleeps great overnight it’s just naps that she struggles with!

Can you sleep next to her and then transfer her to a crib? Or keep your hand on her chest while she falls asleep? It might be a phase too. I know babies under 6 months can struggle with short naps but it’s considered normal. My baby sleeps anywhere from 25 min to 2 hours. When he wakes after 25 min, I can sometimes settle him back down and get him to sleep another 20-30

@Hanah N. I can certainly try that, I’ve attempted the hand on chest but she still seems to wake up once I remove my hand! I feel like I’m missing her sleep cues since she has such a hard time going to nap and she doesn’t always wake up happy, I know there’s a learning curve but I’m just trying to help her any way I can 😢

@Nelmarie that makes sense! It can definitely be harder if they are overtired. I actually pay for the app Huckleberry which tells me when my baby should go to sleep based off prior naps and it’s been super helpful for me. He starts rubbing his eyes around the same time the app says he should go to sleep 😅

@Hanah N. I have the same app I pay for, for the most part it’s pretty accurate which I love but she still fights her naps most of the time

@Nelmarie I hope it gets easier soon! As he gets older, my baby definitely needs a darker room, a paci and white noise to feel ready for a nap.

My baby is the same, she sleeps great at night, once she gets to sleep. But in general it is difficult to get her to sleep for naps and for the night. So far rocking, white noise, and sometimes a little milk helps. I’m open to any tips and I hope this is just a phase! My baby gets to the point of crying loudly when tired!
