I feel exactly the same so I’m looking into childminders as they only allowed to have one child under 1 years old at a time so in my head they should get more attention and better personal care than in a nursery full of other babies and children. We can’t afford for me to not go back to work but I so wish I didn’t have to 😢
I worked in childcare on and off for 7 years. I can only speak from my experience at my center, but I can tell you that it doesn’t make anyone’s day easier to let a child cry it out. We always did our best to soothe a crying child of any age. Sometimes nothing worked and so we would take breaks from active soothing and instead offer distractions or some quiet time but with a baby so young someone should be tending to her pretty much all the time. It’s definitely worth talking to the carers about your preferences. You’re basically a team that needs to be in sync so you’re keeping some consistency at home and at daycare. Express this specific concern to them and hopefully they can reassure you of how they handle crying. Generally I found after an adjustment period the babies would cry at drop off for about 5 minutes and then would settle into the daily routine. But your nerves are super normal. I feel them myself too as a new mum with my LO going into care soon.
Following as I feel the same 😫
