Baby’s colic?

Anyone dealing with their baby being colicky and very hard to pass gas? Also if you are breastfeeding have you gotten any drs advice on what to eat or not to eat in order to ease baby’s symptoms through breastmilk? Did you try formula instead?

Major colic over here! He ended up having CMPA and soy sensitivity. We used Mylicon drops and they save us, you can use them up to 12 times a day. Still EBF and he has gotten SO much better now that we figured it out. Infant dyschezia is a thing too! Sometimes they just struggle to fart for a while. I stick him in a supported squat on my lap after each feed and it helps him get the farts out and we get face to face time, win win

I'm currently trying the wonky winding technique, but with limited success :(

My LO had trouble with gas from 2-5 weeks while I figured out what worked best for her. She would cry in pain after each feed and whimper and groan in her sleep (if she let me get her down). I began giving her BioGaya probiotic drops and I stopped drinking cows milk and dairy (except for a daily glass of kefir). It worked right away. I spoke with a dietician at the hospital and she said if I wanted to reintroduce milk I should do so slowly. Other things I do to keep gas in check : - limit my broccoli, cabbage, beans - take her off the nipple after any clicks and put her back on (some feeds this is pretty constant) - burp her after each feed until I hear a burp. This can include putting her on my lap and doing circles with her and holding her up out front of me and then back my shoulder - lots of tummy time to break up gas bubbles

Best position to help gas pass I learned I saw on tiktok: Hold baby upwards in the air supporting their head with your hand under their cheeks🤌🏽 .Place your other hand on their butt with your fingers between the legs and palm on the bum 🫴🏽 . Move their hips in circular motion with your bottom hand. The gas should free either with a burp or poot. Did this with my baby boy and it helped SO much and instantly. He is EBF and I also had to cut out all dairy, caffeine and nuts.

I used a Frida windi gas passer for the first time yesterday! I was very happy, as was my LO, but a warning, more than just gas came out lol!

@Mariana thank you for sharing. I will ask about reintroducing milk slowly. Something I am doing is drinking almond milk which I was told i could. Omg I will ask again I feel bad now. Although since I posted this things have gotten a little better. Also doing the BioGaia probiotics and I believe this is what’s helped the most to be honest. I also have kefir but did not take anymore since it is dairy. I will ask about this as well thank you 🙏🏽

@Emma used it as well. I loved it. But also somewhat afraid of using it often. So I limited to when I really feel is needed when all else fails.

@Jay thank you. I have tried something similar except I don’t do the circular motion. I just hold him this way and that calms him down. Thank you.

@Kat i tried and also no success :/ but thank you

@Rachael i have not done face to face time. Also got mylicon drops as per his pediatrician recommendation. It does work. I will try the supported squat. Although its been better since I posted this we struggle passing gas some times.
