5M old waking earlier than their ‘normal’

Our LG used to wake between 07:00/07:30 but last few days been more 06:15/06:45? Our nighttime sleep isn’t bad, seems less of course due to morning wake time. But bedtime is similar and it floats between and hour window. She sleeps between 19:15/20:15 but is usually the earlier end. On occasion bedtime can be 18:30 if we need to skip the last nap ‘due to timing’ But the earlier wake has been when she’s settled/asleep 19:30ish. Anyone else found a shift in the morning wake time? Is it a developmental thing. Curious ❤️

Yes! Exactly this, seems to be like clockwork, awake at 6-6:15am. Not sure if she’d get more sleep if I fed her and then put her back down, but also conscious we’re supposed to be phasing out the night feeds. And even if we put her to bed a bit later, still awake at the same time. Let me know if you find anything that helps!

My LG is the same, she goes to bed between 7/7:30pm, and used to wake between 7:30/8am but recently is now waking between 6:30/7am.

Yep my 5 month old was doing 630-7 wake ups it's now more 6-630 occasionally 530 I think it's very normal x

@Hattie I’ve tried a bottle and she refuses.. she’s always been funny with her morning bottle. She has to ‘wake’ for a bit first. But in the exact same, even if I did bedtime later, she’d still wake up the same time. So confused 😂

@Chloe it’s so bizarre. I’m glad so far there’s a couple of us in it as shows it might be developmental thing & hopefully a phase they grow out of 🫠

Mine does this and I bring her to bed with me for a cuddle and she goes back to sleep for an hour 😂 not sure if I'm supposed to do that though lol x

it could be just that as they're getting older their sleep needs are changing/decreasing, so whereas before they might have needed that extra bit, now by 6am they've met their sleep needs for that 24h period?

@Resh I second this as well. It’s definitely their sleep needs decreasing but then how are we supposed to keep them up any later 🫠 or do we have to start calling their naps shorter to get more night time sleep - ah it’s all so mind boggling. Don’t know how our parents figured it all out without the internet lol

@Gunes I’m so glad you asked. As that was my next question, if the sleep is decreasing do we have to start decreasing their naps? 🫠

wish i had the answers guys!

My boy sleeps through the night, however before his sleep regression he would sleep 7:30 till 4, feed & change and go back to sleep till 7. But now he’ll go to sleep at 7:30, wake briefly at 9 (rock him back to sleep within a few mins) and then be awake at 5am. He is still tired though, but I cannot get him back to sleep. He refuses!! So annoying 😆 trying to alter his naps a little as he seems to sleep 11 1/2 hrs within 24 hours so I think he’s just reaching his max sleep
