Sick note?

I’m 14 weeks pregnant and struggled so bad from 5 weeks with morning sickness (off work the whole of December) been back at work since the beginning of January and I spend 1/2 days at work and I’m so completely exhausted that it makes me physically ill. I was feeling better after having time off in December and now it seems the morning sickness is back and badly. I just feel so tired, so sick. I felt like I had the flu last week so took a few days off and then this week was so sick I thought I had a bug so took 2 days off so far. Thing is I feel like I’m taking the piss taking a few days off after a few days at work. But I am struggling, I have a consultation at the hospital today, do you think I can get a sick note? I think I just need some rest. I have a toddler at home so definitely think I’m just struggling more this time round because you get no rest anyway.

you may have Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I had it. There are medications for it to help but only doctor can prescribe them. I was off sick for 3 months and then on half days (office work) for the rest of pregnancy. It is what it is, your health and baby's is most important, not how employer "feels". it's serious and if you lose too much weight it can impact baby's development so you need to take care of yourself first! ❤️

@Babs they diagnosed me with it in early pregnancy but it did seem to settle. My work place have been fine I’m just more wondering if the doctor will tell me it’s normal and to get on with it or if they would give me a sick note xx

if it's making you unable to work then definitely. if you want it backdated (if you took sick leave when sick) i would also say they would but you can just call the gp practice and ask for that most of the times without need to fully go in its also cheaper that way 😉
