Craving junk food?

10 weeks today - and I can’t stop thinking about burgers, fried chicken, chips etc. I’ve always been a very health conscious eater - preferring meals low on sodium and artificial seasoning - but in the last couple of weeks I’ve found myself giving in to my unhealthy cravings every other day at least. Is anyone experiencing this?

You are not alone. I'm right there with you. Last weekend I made my own fried chicken at home to satisfy my craving. I convinced myself homemade was better than ordering from Morleys or KFC.

Yep! I’m exactly the same! Usually very healthy but now the sight of broccoli makes me gag and all I can think about is burgers and pizza (which i never normally eat!) theyve been the only things that I’ve eaten without feeling sick so have given in a few time too xx

I was really conscious of this and mentioned to my midwife that I’m struggling with the lack of fruit and veg I can manage right now. Salads especially don’t seem to agree with me which is what I’ve had for lunch at work since forever! She said in the first trimester your body naturally will crave fatty foods because fat is such a high percentage of what is needed for babies development and if you’re having morning sickness fatty foods can help keep you fuller and not losing so much weight. I’m a few weeks from the second trimester and hoping that I’ll be back loving my usual diet again soon once I can handle more flavours.
