Induction

Why schedule and tell me I’m being induced on X day if it’s not gunna happen? I’m so annoyed🙃 I was told yesterday I was second on the list, and I know for damn sure our trauma 1 medical center has gotta have more than 1 doctor qualified to deliver a baby🙄 I understand that more urgent cases may have arose and needed to come first, I’m just frustrated. My husband took the whole week off (which we can’t afford) because we thought we’d be (hopefully) having a baby yesterday🙃

It is very frustrating to be scheduled for an induction and not be able to go in that day. It's not so much enough doctors - they need a clean room to put you in and the appropriate amount of staff to patients. My first was a scheduled induction and I had to wait 24 hours for a room to open up. This baby I was told to go straight over to L&D after having an ultrasound at MFM to induce that morning but L&D didn't have a room for me for several hours.

My location deliberately set a 48 hour window from the scheduled date. Probably so they don’t run into this problem. They might have a shortage of nurses or something..Either way it is frustrating.

@M.J I was told yesterday that I’m “second on the list” but then was pretty much told they’ll call when they call so I’ve been sitting around just waiting😅

Looks like it’s likely not going to happen today either🥲 I’m mostly upset that I could have been spending the day with my 5 year old son instead of sitting around waiting for a call. He’s been with his grandparents cause he didn’t have school the last two days and I miss him🙃 🥺😭

I just decided to cancel mine as my body just doesn’t seem ready yet. I had an appointment today and I’m not dilated at all so I’m holding off for now. I can understand it being a convenient plan for you though since you need to arrange childcare. Hope they get back to you soon!
