Day to Day- Baby activities

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! I'm curious, how do you spend your days with your little one? What kind of activities do you enjoy together? I have a 9-month-old baby boy and I'm a first-time mom.

Hello! We have morning play session and breakfast with various toys out 1 at a time, nap 10-11 (if I’m lucky) then lunch followed by an hour or so walk / meet up with friends etc to get out and then afternoon nap 2-4(if I’m lucky) then will get new toys out we didn’t play in the morning, go in the door bouncer, clean paint time etc random activities then dads home🤣x

Playing with toys, reading books and singing rhymes. We used to go for walks when the weather was better

@Bria Hey, thanks a lot for getting back to me! I'm kind of feeling a bit of mom guilt, like maybe I'm not doing quite enough... Do you do paint time? Thats quite cool.

Hey Samina! Thanks for getting back to me. Awesome, I am doing the same stuff as you!

We used to do a lot of water play, foam play, sensory activities but I’ve replaced that with set time to focus on strengthening activities, practicing standing independently, helping her with her cruising things like that. Once she’s cracked walking we’ll go back to the sensory activities but whilst she’s desperate to walk will focus on that for now x

Yeah I get a zip lock bag and put some paint in it then tape it to the floor and sometimes he’s interested and sometimes not ! I’ve started rough play with him to keep him awake and not grumpy ha like putting him upside down and softly tackling him into a hug and he giggles so much! X

Also tying to cut their nails… takes so long now!

Hey! Just saw your comment about mum guilt - just want to say, sometimes I sit on the sofa and watch some tv with a cup of tea whilst she plays with toys on her own. We do lots of activities, but also, it’s okay if you’re not being exciting, entertaining and a real life ms Rachel for 12 hours a day 😅 I think there’s an awful lot of pressure to do new and exciting things from TikTok otherwise we’re doing our children badly, but they will be okay even if they play with a loud, bright, definitely not Montessori toy for 10 minutes 😊❤️

I have a 3 year old as well so I really feel like we barely do anything with my littlest. My 8 month old kind of just fits in with our 3 year old at the moment. We wake up, breakfast, some YouTube for nursery rhymes and learning, plays with all her toys, we go out a lot so she’s usually in her pram having a look around! But mostly in the house she’s playing with toys, watching her older sister play and play with her. She’s started to love her jumperoo so she’s in that most days for 15 odd mins at a time! Mum guilt is real and only since reading this post I’ve realised I don’t do as much with my youngest as I did my eldest.

@Sammy omgggg me too! I was talking about this earlier. On days we don’t go to baby groups I’m at a loss of things to do, I did quite a bit of googling yesterday and tried a few things: we had a teddy bear tea party, read the same peekaboo book about ten times. She really likes when I tape things to the sofa with masking tape for her to pull off. Same with post it notes. Play with the toys together. She really like when I fill a basket with her toys cos she can empty it. I really find narrating everything hard. Sometimes I feel like I’ve not really spoken to her for like half an hour or so. I try to long out meal times for the sensory benefit. Let her squish things she’s finished eating lol.

@Amber needed this thank you. My baby isn’t babbling like other babies her age (9.5 months) and is just on the verge of crawling. I was saying to my partner what if it’s my fault cos I don’t talk to her enough, 😢
