1 year old - bedtime

Does anyone’s 1 year old completely kick off when it’s bed time? Any hacks would be great!!

Longer wake windows! I’ve stretched my baby’s wake windows to 6 hours and it works SO well. He goes down without a fight for naps and bed time and sleeps longer too 😊

@Parris I don’t know how much more I can stretch his wake windows 😩 He gets up at 7.30am and his first nap isn’t till 12.30-1pm for about 1 and half hour and then goes to bed at 7.30 - well I try at 7.30! I’ve finally just got him to sleep 😩 xx

On and off. My son is going down to one nap. When bedtime comes around, he sometimes kicks off or lays on his dads chest whilst watching tv and dozes off

@Parris tried 6/7hr and it’s seems like very much fighting during sleeping takes hr to put her onto sleep what’s your routine btw

My little one is still awake now & is just not going down tonight. Only had one nap but was a later one 3-4. I’m drained 😩 x

@Tori Mallett-Brown ours is the same as this with the same timings too, I’ve found that having the same routine before bed every night helps a lot and also we do a little cuddle and rock for about 5/10 mins in the arms before I place him in the cot and he’s still awake when I put him in. Sometimes he cries and I just lightly tap his back and say it’s sleep time now and then leave the room for a few mins, if he does cry he usually settles within 5 mins of me not being in the room then i pop back in around 15 mins later and just make sure he’s okay and then leave and watch on the camera. Most nights he goes down perfectly but we’ve kept the same routine since he was 4 months and now nearly 14 months
