Omg with baby no3 we just about made it to a room! I had my daughter in the delivery room standing over the bed, No pain relief there wasn't time , i got to the hospital at 5.30am I was booked in 5.55am my waters broke, then she came at 6am - Honestly it was soo quick i couldn't believe it x
My third came so fast, I also had an unplanned home birth with no medical assistance apart from over a phone call. I’m pregnant with number 4, and have opted for a home birth again to be safe and as strongly advised by the midwives. Each of my births have got quicker and quicker with labour. 12hrs, 6hrs and just over 1hr. I would definitely prepare that there is another chance of your home birth happening again. :)
Following as I’m also expecting my 3rd so interested to hear others stories - especially as I went into spontaneous labour and PROM at 32 weeks with my other two xxx
@Louise awww bless you I'm prom at 22wks with my middle one he was born at 24wks, so o feel your pain!! He will be 3 in March! My recent bababy even at 21wks my cervix started to widen so I had a stitch , stayed in till 37wks and I had her 39 - It was sooo odd with my eldest boys I was induced both times, with my daughter it was an experience feeling everything lol xx
With my first I had him 40+2 and was a fairly speedy labour with an episiotomy. My second was 38+4, at 5pm my cervix was apparently closed but by 7pm I was 7cm, no intervention or tearing. My third was on her due date, I arrived at the hospital at 11am and was 8cm, my baby was born at 11:19am with no intervention or tearing 😮💨 x
@Elle (i can't see waves) wow! What a little fighter! That’s amazing and I’m so glad he’s doing well. My two are 20 and 18 now 🙈 can’t believe I’m starting all over again 😂. I’m in a similar situation with this one. I’ll be 19 weeks tomorrow and currently been having fortnightly scans as my cervix is shorter than they’d like (2mm longer than needing a stitch atm though, so currently on progesterone twice daily to help delay any further shortening). Also got placenta previa too (completely covering baby’s exit atm) so also having fortnightly scans for that. I’m hopeful it’ll move as I get bigger, but as it stands now it’ll be planned section at 36 weeks. Just anxious if it doesn’t move and I go early again as it’ll be an emergency section - which is fine if I can get to a hospital in time, but obviously worried as with PP there’s a massive risk of haemorrhaging. But trying not to think about that too much atm and literally taking it week by week xxx
@Louise awww wow I did peep your page and thought wow , as you know you wouldn't think they was prem! Thankyou yes it's been a tough one journey with my last little ones ! I also have a 16yr that pregnancy was a breeze maybe cos I was younger LOOOL! Yes i was offerd the pessery also , however at the time we was homeless and I just thought for me the stitch would be easier one less thing for me to worry about , Also i asked my partner if he would pop it up he said NOPE HAHA 😄 With my daughter the stitch it was a straightforward procedure thou, I did have an epidural and within 5mins it was done - However the anesthetic took time to get in my system soo I could have gone home the same day but legs still felt numb so I stayed overnight - Kid free whahoo! Lol Then yeah i had continuous scans till 34wks as I was soo worried and 37weeks again simply a speculum and the stitch was out lol 😆 What we put our bodies through I still find it amazing x
Mine was the best of the 3! No assistance (cutting or instruments) She was in a funny position with her hands over her head so we were in hospital waiting for an induction anyway but labour started spontaneously and I quite enjoyed it. I'd done a bit of reading into hypnobirthing and breathing techniques and managed with just a tens machine until my waters were broken, then I went from 3cm to 9cm in 15 mins and had some gas and air and pushed her out 😊
