Mine is pretty bad and has been throughout this particular pregnancy but I’ve learnt (maybe wrong of me!) to deal with it. At my last midwife appointment about a week or so ago - she told me to call my GP and advised me to not suffer through it with chewable gaviscons only - she said they can prescribe me something stronger. I didn’t bother as I knew I was about 2 - 3 weeks away from my c section and I’d been dealing with it for so long so I just couldn’t bother you know But possibly try calling yours if it’s so so bad?
Some things that help a little but not fully: I dont eat a few hours before sleeping - at least 3 - preferably more! I don’t sleep so flat and have a high pillow I avoid sweet or fried foods like the plague but this one is hit and miss because 70% of foods are triggering it for me so it’s not feasible!
Talk to your Dr. Omeprazole was a lifesaver my first pregnancy. Got a "just in case" prescription this time around.
Drinking a glass of milk before bed/ keeping one in my room to drink in the middle of the night if I wake up with it has been the only thing to work for me. I also recently found out that sleeping on your left side helps reduce the likelihood of it going back up into your esophagus!
I had it so bad during pregnancy!Sounds silly but i found very plain foods made a tad difference so ready salted crisps, rice, nothing acidic or too sweet! I also took rennies constantly😅Hope it stops soon🤞🏼
Honestly I’ve been living off gaviscon 😭😭😭
Me! Was so bad last night and weirdly I swear dairy is making it worse 🥹
@Sally maybe lactose intolerance? I am lactose intolerant and I’m the same, although milk does split in the lining of your stomach
Can you develop this in pregnancy?! 🤦🏻♀️
Yes, and it’s getting worse in 3rd trimester. The only thing that helps me is Gaviscon..
Ask your GP for Omeprazole, life changer!
1/2tsp bicarb in 1/2c water - helps so much! Also love heart sweets
