Breastfeeding!!

Hi ladies! I wanted to give some encouragement to some mamas on here about breastfeeding! The first time I breastfed my 1st baby, I thought something was wrong with my body because I wasn't producing "enough." Little did I know that breastfeeding is literally supply on demand! I had my second little one not too long ago. Each time she was hungry, I latched her. She did get a little bit of formula while we were in the hospital but it was very minimal. I realized the more I latched her on, the more milk I was making. I also had her to stay on my breast for as long as she wanted. She seems to be eating 2 ounces per feeding. Since we've been home, my breasts have been producing what she's eating + more. I also pump after she is done eating from me since she usually just eats from 1 breast. Now, I'm making a little more than what she eats and I'm able to start building my freezer supply! I just wanted to let some of you know that breastfeeding is beautiful and it is work! Stay hydrated, fuel your body, get some rest if and when you can, latch baby on and you can definitely build a supply! Supply on demand!

Thank you!!! I was over producing with my first child.. just had my second baby and I got sooo frustrated because I was not producing and I felt so sad that my baby was not even latching on. I have “”no nipples” and it’d hard for him to latch on. I am having to pump every 3 hours but during the night how do I?? It’s hard and I am trying to get as much rest as needed but with me having to pump? I have been praying to God to help me

@Lucy which kind of pump do you have ? If you have one you can put in your bra you can prop yourself up and lean back and still get "rest". With my second I bought a fridge for night pumps. So I don't have to get out of bed. And I just put it in there in the morning. Even if you don't have a hands free pump. Get a pumping bra. And you could lean back then. Those are something's that's helped. I also take immunity suppliments., and milk support suppliments. Drink water. Tea and hydration products. And eat something specifically for helping milk production ones a day. A big one that's helped with second baby is trusting that my body will take care of my baby, it's easier said than done. But yeah

Correct 🤗 It’s frustrating that so many people do not know this! Simple supply and demand
