I have started to think about it. There is a lot to think about and also it may not go to plan so keep a number of options available I've been told.

My midwife asked at my 25 week appontment if I wanted to start looking at a birth plan at my 28-week appointment! I said I wasn't writing one as it never goes to plan, and i am happy to go with the flow this time, and she laughed and agreed with me! 😄

It’s good to have one as soon as possible in case anything happens, even if you modify it as the weeks go on ☺️ but as others have said, these things rarely go to plan 😂 start by researching your options in terms of pain relief and intervention, I found The Positive Birth Company good for that. I’m sure there are templates online which should help too 😄

I think a good way to think about it is having a way you would love birth to go, and note down any of your wishes/concerns/things you might not be able to advocate for yourself during labour that is in your notes and your birth partner is aware of. For instance, I just wanted baby to make a safe entry in to the world, but I really wanted to try and avoid ventouse/forceps if possible…emergency c section as it turned out! I also wanted to make sure we (either myself or husband) had skin to skin asap, I wanted delayed cord clamping, I wanted to try and feed as soon as possible.
