@Sarah Colbourne it's just mentally draining 🫣 I've been started giving him vitmins hoping it will help him not catch things I'm constantly Google stuff aswell it's not fun :( xx
@Kirsty oh yes I give my girl foods with vitamins in which I think help but also me and her dad have strong immune systems which she's inherited which I'm glad 😊 but it's winter now so I'll be anxious until Spring xx
@Sarah Colbourne I've never caught a bug off my son thankfully but I feel like my luck will run out one day 🫣 xx
@Kirsty same only flu but that floors me, not everyone does catch it but I'm still anxious I'm currently pregnant with really bad nausea so don't need nothing else xx
I’m also really struggling with my emetephobia, I was doing much better and now my little boy is in nursery every single night I’m filled with dread that tonight is going to be the night! If anyone has any advice I’d also like to hear it because it really is life ruining!
Yes I have emetophobia and panic ALOT with sweaty palms aswell I always have to get my mum to help me when my child gets sick which is rarely as I try to prevent it as much as as I can
i have emetophobia, every time my son coughs / pukes i get anxiety. he tries his best to make it to the trash bin but even when he does the sound and sight sometimes makes me gag and gives me anxiety. sometimes i call dad to help me, if im by myself i thug it out as best i can 🤣😭
If you haven’t already then definitely approach your GP to look at some CBT. I have/had emetophobia and it caused me real severe anxiety, no other kind of treatment worked for me like CBT—after 8 weeks I was discharged with some ‘homework’ and I can honestly say I am miles better and can deal with sickness quite well. Xxx
Unfortunately, kids get ill, it's a part of life I'm afraid! When my son first went to a childminder he had a snotty nose every couple of weeks, it was relentless
I have emetophobia and my daughter got so mad it made her throw up for the first time ever last week (shes 3 1/2) and omg my anxiety went through the roof and i was shaking after while also trying to talk her through it because she was kinda freaking out, needless to say i was terrified the rest of the night lmao
@Sara it's awful :( my sons been at nursery sonde September and has had 3 sickness bugs in that time and it doesn't get easier :( I feel so bad as I keep him at arms length and won't let him come close to me as I'm pertrifeied of catching it. And I'm like that for about 48 hours as I kno it can still be contagious for that time after. And my hands end up red raw from washing then all the time. This phobia is no joke :( I don't even want to send him to nursery anymore as I gen3xan not cope with the anxiety but I'm glad she's OK now x
@Kirsty im so sorry about your boy being sick from nursery, this phobia really isn't a joke it's so bad. I understand not wanting to get sick from him, don't be too hard on yourself 🫶🏼
I have emetephobia, my daughter goes to nursery but not ill that often I'm quite lucky, I get anxiety everytime she kids cough 😅 I feel you the phobia ruins you're life xx
