I got one for up to 15 months with a handle, I couldnt see many that went higher. Also like you wanted to get one that lasted a longer time, but then thought with a newborn Id want one that I can bring them in if they are sleeping and going shopping etc without disturbing so I got a cybex one that lays down. Also found out that ones that go up to 4 years odd may not have some of the better safety things but I am not 100% on where I read that. Think my plan is to get another one thats from 1 year plus to 4 anyway, but good luck - car seat shopping I found was worse than anything else!

We've just got a cybex one which goes up to 24months but it would depend on how big your baby is. My LG is 16months and easily still fits in it but her cousin would have never fitted in at this age. Xx
Oh yes I remember how stressful this is! We had a second hand buggy and wanted a car seat that we could: -remove (as my partner's family live abroad so we wanted one we could take with us) -clip onto the buggy (so we wouldn't have to take him out of the car seat if he's asleep, for example). These greatly reduced the suitable options and really helped! But it also meant we had to buy one that's good for a year only as the ones that are good up to age 4 are permanently fixed into the car, so that's what decided it for us. It's impossible for a car seat to do everything for all scenarios, so maybe it's about thinking about budget and what your absolutely essential qualities in a car seat are. Also, ultimately they're all made to safety standards so you can't really go wrong, most people I know have Maxi Cosi and that seems to work well 😊
Avionaut sky I believe is one of the most recommended from birth and will last till around 5/6 xx
I bought the graco 4 ever convertible car seat, and I love it. It stays in the car and grows with him. I baby wear/use a stroller.
We’ve got the joie I-spin 360 I-size which is birth to 4, has isofix and is both rear and forward facing (and spins so it’s easy to get them in and out)
