I think it depends on other factors. Does he understand what you're saying? Does he communicate by pointing, clapping, laughing, etc?
@Sophie he does yes I ask him to go get his shoes and he will etc
They don’t worry about speech till they’re atleast 2 that’s what I was told by a speech therapist. My little boy only says dada and bird
My lb is also 20 months and only says “dada” “bye bye” “owl” and “hat”. He also makes animal noises and that’s it. He does however understand a lot of what we are saying such as “shall we go have our bath” he always toddles off to the stairs and if we say “shall we get in the car” then he goes to the front door. I wouldn’t worry about it at this stage - sounds fine to me! 🥰
My LB also 20 months doesn’t say much other than mama dada nanny grandad etc but can understand what we are saying so I’m not concerned. Nursery have said no concern until after 2 .. I guess a lot can change in 4 months! Sounds ok to me c
We had health visitor come yesterday and I asked about my sons speech, he can say dada and gook (for look) but nothing else and she said she would consider his speech behind where it should be but no concern until the 2.5 yr check
