I told my boss as soon as my pregnancy was confirmed by doctors just to let her know in case I was feeling shitty. I’m pregnant again 5 months later and just planning on saying nothing cause I don’t want the drama.
See I had my first dr appt yesterday but ended up not being as far along as we expected, probably only about 5 weeks. I have to go back at 7 weeks for a follow up since nothing was visible on the ultrasound yet. I want to let people know sooner but I have this constant fear, since I’ve already gone through 2 miscarriages😭 I just get nervous about telling people and then something happen, it would make it so much harder for me to get through. luckily I haven’t had any morning sickness or severe symptoms so I shouldn’t have any problems keeping low about it, only thing I’m skeptical on is that my job can sometimes be demanding and having to lift things 😩
Incog, I definitely hear you on that I was like that my whole first pregnancy and feel that way about this one too. If you feel after you hit the second tri that you want to tell them, that’s okay. as far as the lifting, I do a lot but I’m used to asking for help a lot so I will not be lifting. you can ask for some help lifting the heavy shit, and it won’t draw too much attention hopefully
i started my job when i was 4 months and tried somewhat hiding it cause i didn’t think they’ll hire me😅 and really only personally told two coworkers cause they asked and i wasn’t going to say no and then something bad happens then two more asked (which i was shocked cause i thought i was doing a great job at hiding it) then somebody blabbed it out one day and that’s when i knew everybody already knew and was waiting for me to say something😭 i was 6 months pregnant and wasn’t that big at this point
I told them straight away , so they could start doing risk assessments which would make work safer for me and baby.there was a lot of heavy lifting involved where I worked and I was one of 2 to do all the heavy work, so would have been suspicious if I started avoiding those jobs.
I mentioned it around 15 weeks maybe? 🤔 I went out on leave at 17 weeks
I'm going to tell mine after my 12 week scan. I think most people know or suspect already though tbh so I'm looking forward to getting it out in the open
I just told my manager at 19 weeks. My immediate backup paralegal has known since I was 17 weeks. The rest of the team doesn’t know. I’m managing an entire trial team in a case with a huge amount of exposure and media coverage and I don’t want to be a distraction or be benched. I’m also remote though, so no one sees me from chest down. I’ll let the team know following my anatomy scan as I deem necessary and more aware of my plans for leave.
I didn't tell my work till it was worth it for me. I.e. something at work putting me and my baby in danger ( Healthcare worker) . I waited till my second trimester to tell work as the floor i was working on had shingles. Depending on where you work i have herd employers doing shady shit after finding out women are pregnant. Put your self first because most company's treat you as a # and will replace you.
I work in HR and I told my manager we were trying for a baby and the day I found out x
I mentioned as soon as I found out because it'd have been really suspicious of me to suddenly stop going out for a fag/not going out for a drink/running to the bathroom more.
