Just don't let dad pick up the child. I imagine in the beginning, they'll focus on criminal records, but eventually they'll do everyone else. Tell him to keep his head down.
@Tasha I was reading something about this earlier. Persons can plead the fifth, human rights is still in place for these individuals they just have to be aware of their rights
Omg! Most probably won't know. I hope people who are in jeopardy do their homework on this.

One thing is to make sure you are reading and listening to everything coming out of this. 1. They are first arresting people with criminal histories 2. Educate yourself on what to do if they do come, if they don’t have search warrants they can not enter a private establishment/property like a business or your home. They will most likely not have that. They then also have no right to search your papers or look for proof. You do not have to consent to anything and you can ask to only speak to them in the presence of an attorney. Make sure you contact your local immigration attorney, if you are in NY, CUNY has a free immigration attorney/program.
I doubt this is legal. If your child is a citizen you have nothing to worry about, in the unlikely event if something happens you go get your child instead of dad
