he can probably sense that you’re frustrated and the lack of connection which also might be contributing to his crying 😥 yes to what commented said abt seeing the doc to see if something is bothering him, but also maybe see if your partner or a family member can watch him for a while so that you can get a break. that’ll help you reset & come back to baby with an open mind, & do things that build a bond like skin to skin, smiling and talking to baby, taking a bath together with baby etc
feeling no connection, hopelessness, overwhelmed can also be signs of postpartum depression so I would also look into that. can be different for everyone so you may not feel “depressed” but feel other symptoms
@Barira I agree! My mom takes him for the weekend usually and give me a chance to reset! The first time I did I thought I’d miss him more but the second time I was thinking about him none stop!
Maybe talk to his pediatrician about what the problem is. It’s not normal for them to cry for so long, especially for a few hours straight. My baby had silent reflex and it really bothered him before they put him on medicine and I felt like I was at my wits end. It’s hard to feel connected when they’re upset all the time, I felt like I was failing him… especially being a first time mom. Now that he’s on the right medication and I’m following certain steps to make sure he comfortable I got my smiling baby back!
