Rice and beans with tomato shrimp
0% HEAT/SPICINESS THAI CURRY I just invented it, because my toddlers Will. Not. With the chilis. Iâve never seen a recipe for one anywhere on earth so I made it up. It was a Big hit this evening! If anyone wants a recipe Iâll type it up.
Smothered chicken. -chicken thighs -green onions (chopped) -bell peppers (chopped) -white rice (2 cups rice 3.5 cups water) -flour -Lawry season salt -garlic powder -onion powder -sazon Put rice on. While thatâs cooking get you a sautee pan add a little olive oil to it. Put it to medium heat (my stove says 6). Take your veggies and sautee for a couple minutes. Take out and set aside. Then take your seasoned chicken and pan fry it until a you get a nice sear. Take chicken and set aside. Turn stove down to medium low ( 3 on my stove). Add a little more olive oil then sprinkle your flour in. Get a whisk and start to whisk the oil and flour then gradually add some water until you get a nice consistency for gravy. Then season the gravy. Add back your veggies and chicken. And then cover the pan and let simmer for about 30-45 minutes. Donât let your rice burn. Once everything is done plate rice and then chicken with gravy over top.
But tonight weâre eating fried chicken. đ

One of my favourite things to eat and make is chicken kebab style with Turkish style rice and limey tomatoes salsa (I could eat limey salsa every single say it's sooo fresh)
@Helen what is your recipe for the limey salsa? Sounds delicious!
@Kirsten I tend to do 4 salad sized tomatoes. 1 to 2 spring onions chopped finley. Season with salt and pepper. Grate the zest of half a lime (I some times do a a full lime if I want it extra limey) juice of half a lime (if they're not overly juicy I add a whole lime), a bit of chopped corianda and then a drizzle of olive oil then finish it off.
