I would say no… a transvaginal scan is a lot smoother/comfortable in comparison. I would compare it more to a cervical screening check. When attempting a sweep, they have to do this by hand and need to first check if the cervix is dilated to even be able to do a sweep, some may be sitting quite far back too. If it’s not open they can’t sweep the membranes. This can already feel uncomfortable. The second step if dilated is to sweep the membranes which can be painful but is very quick. Definitely tolerable but more discomfort.
No I wouldn’t say that at all. The scan the rod is inserted and moved slightly, I didn’t even find it uncomfortable to get done. A sweep is uncomfortable and can in some cases be painful x
Thanks ladies for this, makes me feel nervous and worried! Was hoping it would be like the scan! Then it'd be more tolerable...
It does..but way more intrusive and uncomfortable. It feels very fleshy . Thats the best way I can describe it
