Antenatal appointment 28 weeks

I've had a text through about an antenatal appointment at the hospital which will fall around 28/29 weeks but I have no idea what it's for. My midwife didn't mention it last week and I have the 28 week appointment booked for 5 days before this new appointment.. did anyone have this and know what its for?

It may be a growth scan? If it’s a hospital appointment I would ring them just incase x

@Julia it doesn't say the ultrasound unit just antenatal..not instructions either so can't be a GD test. So strange I'll have to call when the line opens it's made me nervous

I wouldn’t be nervous if it was something serious they would defiantly call or explain before they send a letter! Not sure which hospital your are In but I know for me my growth scans were not in the same rooms as the normal scans so we wouldn’t wait in the same waiting room either but yes for peace of mind ring them and I could also just be duplicate I know I also had that with my first appointments for some reason

Might be the anti D? that’s when I had to have my injection and the letter sounded similar to what you have said. Ring the hospital and just double check it’s really silly they don’t tell you!

@Julia thankyou. I have anxiety so to get an appointment out of the blue has just caught me off guard. My 20w scan showed all average measurements and nothing was mentioned on my 25w midwife app last Friday. Just seems so strange the lack of information. I've called the booking team and it rings out then says number not recognised

@Ashleigh oh really that is interesting because I did have the blood test due to being rhesus negative but never heard back from it so assumed baby matched, they've not mentioned it since so if it is that's really bad. I'm waiting on the midwife to get back to me as the booking line just rings out and says number not recognised after so long

Yeah I was the exact same, had the test never mentioned anything and then this letter turned up 🤷‍♀️

@Ashleigh I've finally got through to someone at maternity and it is the Anti-D injection. Thanks for mentioning it, I'd never have thought it would be that. Can't believe they didn't tell you either what an oversight
