Tantrums

My girl age 18 months since Sunday has been having these terrible tantrums, on Sunday I just thought she was ill because we all had colds, then every night I've got her from the childminders she's had several tantrums to the point I've had to put her to bed because I don't even know how to cope with them🙈the childminder says she's perfect at there house, even if I look at her she has a tantrum, she is also hitting which upsets me because I don't have a clue where she has got it from, how do I control any off these, really at a loose end with them. Thanks

Yesterday my son was an emotional wreck, whining and moaning and crying and just being a bit of a terror. Also being extremely clumsy. I think they're coming out of a developmental leap. I'm sure I'd read that tantrums and mood swings are at their worst right before a big change :) xx

We spoke to the health visitor about this - we have had head banging, hitting, attempted biting, rolling around on the floor, screaming...you name it, he's done it! Not a peep at the childminder's either. The HV said that the fact they aren't like that elsewhere shows they have a secure bond and safe place at home to express themselves freely which gave us some comfort, although it is so hard at the time. It's definitely a developmental stage and we were told for the large part to ignore it, unless obviously they're unsafe in some way x

You are the safe space, she obviously feels ok letting them out around you Daycare and general life can be SO stimulating and that can cause big emotions and feelings and she’s masking all day x
