Baby prefers daddy?!

My 7.5 month old son is poorly ATM and always been very attached to both me and his dad. Not shown a preference in anyway really and never been upset in my arms… However, just this morning my partner went up to him as he’d woken from a nap (he’s poorly atm with a horrible cold) and I came up after to take over and when I took him from my partner he screamed his head off, I tried to sooth him but he clearly wanted his dad so I didn’t want distress him so handed him back and he stopped crying instantly… Later on the same happened when I went to take him off my husband to give him a break… I’m a bit concerned this means he doesn’t have a strong attachment to me or doesn’t feel safe with me? I am his main caregiver and generally a very calm, consistent and loving mummy. I know it shouldn’t matter and that I should just be happy he’s so attached to his dad but I do feel like there May something up as he’s so young, I thought babies, particular when ill, always wanted their mums… this was the case with my firstborn anyway… 💔

Babies like a different face every now and then I felt the same when my son went thru a daddy’s boy stage he would scream all day for me until his dad came home from work. Ur son knows he’s safe with u and loves u very much he just wants some of daddies love and attention xx

My daughters went through stages of this, at one point she’d only settle for her dad but at the minute all she wants is me I can’t get moved for her haha I think they just go through these stages I wouldn’t let it get you down so much I used to think the same when she was being a daddy’s girl xx
