Kissing and herpes

My partners friend kissed my babies hands and then baby put his own hands in his mouth, the friend that kissed babies hands has herpes! I'm not sure if he has a flare up atm, he didn't have any sores on his face. Does this mean my baby has herpes??? 🥺🙏🏼💜

An outbreaks would need to be present to pass it along, watch baby veryyyyy closely. Drs can’t detect it until baby would have an outbreak, I’d say if you see a bump pop up take baby into be seen. Also it may be good to cut that person off. That is like intentionally putting your baby in harms way with them knowing they have that and kissing your baby! (Not saying you are putting them in harms way but the friend with herpes is! I wants to make sure that was clear!)

I've been wondering the sane thing 😭 my grandma has herpes and she's desperate to kiss my baby. We've put in place a no-kissing rule until he's 6 months and she's respected it but idk if it can be passed without an outbreak 😓

I'd let the pediatrician know, that way they are in the loop on it and then follow their instructions. And also make sure your friend it informed on the matter they may not know how dangerous is it for little ones

This just pissed me off…. That’s so disgusting… why would you kiss a baby knowing you have herpes let alone kissing a baby that’s not even yours…. Then people want to think I’m crazy cause I don’t want NO BODY. In my babies face, kissing, or touching her hands, idgad who it is, PERIOD…. Look that’s IT… people are so nasty…. Get your baby looked at….

I don’t think so since there’s no flare up but I’d ask her dr to be sure

Even without a flare up a baby can still contact HSV1 (oral herpes) via shedding. You won’t know if baby contracted until they get a cold sore - if that is to happen baby needs to be seen by a pediatrician immediately!

Who allowed this person to kiss your baby?
