We got my son a little push walker when he was first starting to show that he wanted to walk. Once he got the hang of that and moving “on his own” he started testing to see if he could walk around it with one hand until he realized he could walk from the walker to another solid object. Now he uses it to run circles in my house😅
Mine is doing the same thing. She took her first steps at the beginning of December and since then does it here and there. I've found that if I can get a toy that she really wants (already has to be standing with support from me or another object) and kind of dangle it in front of her, she'll forget and take a few steps. Sometimes this works, other times she knows that she's not hanging onto anything. Give them time, they'll get there. TBH, I'm naturally a cautious person so I think she gets it from me 😅
My daughter did the same thing for a minute. Your little one will get over it as they get more confident in their new skill. Also just practice helps a lot. I started by only having her hold onto one of my hands while she dragged me around the house. I found that hyping my LO up helped a lot. Anytime she would let go I would cheer her on. Also giving her opportunities that didn’t feel as scary, like only being 1 step away while she was holding onto the couch or a chair and encouraging her to take the one step. I found that it really just came with time and confidence and feeling safe. It started with standing confidence, then walking one handed confidence, and then taking a couple steps, and then finally running around. Long story short it comes in time! I was convinced my daughter would never walk on her own but it will happen! Just be her biggest cheerleader! 😊❤️
We would put something in each of my sons hands to take his mind off of it also, every time he would take a step we would clap which made him clap and that motivated him to keep stepping at times. Then the steps increased and One day he started and hasn’t stopped
Following cause my babygirl is doing the same thing.
