Makes me think of Axl Rose
I named my son Axel. My first born is named Ace , and I was 30 weeks and we still hadn’t decided a name. We both just thought Ace and Axel sounded good together.
I think it sounds like "asshole" when shouted 😂
In my old preschool years and years ago (they are probs almost teenagers now 😭) I looked after siblings called Axl & Astrid and I LOVED both their names. So unbelievably cool! I love Axel it’s so cool!

i love the name, never made the association. i asked my partner just now what’s his first association with the name and he did say a car

It reminds me of the teenage murderer
Car parts for me but I work with vehicles. After that though, I think of Axel Rose, the billions guy and sadly the terrorist in the news currently 😢

@Sophie Yes, it's the pos murderer's name but there are other vile killers with more common names that people still give their kids. 'Lucy', 'Rose' and 'Fred' for example. It's typically a Scandinavian name and commonly used in those countries.
Axl rose comes to mind, I’ve met kids with that name, I don’t think of cars necessarily
I used to play a lot of games so it reminds me of a kingdom hearts character first but I like the name.
