IUD & Tubal

Hey everyone. I had an IUD placed on December 11th. Last week I had a string check for my appointment and they could not find my strings. They scheduled an ultrasound. My ultrasound was today. They could not find the strings at the ultrasound today either. An x-ray was ordered to see if they could find it on there. Turns out it’s in my pelvis slanted towards the midline. Now I have to get surgery for it to be removed. I had a very bad feeling about going to get the IUD in anyways. I took one for the team to not get pregnant again. That ended up with the situation im in now. Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve been told it’s rare that this happens. If anyone has had a tubal as well, can you tell me about your experiences with it?

I knew two people I worked with that this happened to and had to have the IUD removed surgically. I’m sure it happens rarely compared to the amount of people that don’t have complications but I’ve heard so many nightmare stories about them I’m afraid to get one but my OB is pushing it on me

I’m also very sorry this is happening to you ☹️

@Monica Please don’t get it. 😕 it’s a nightmare to have. I don’t wish this upon anyone.

@Monica I’m terrified for the surgery but know it’s a simple thing to be done. I never thought it would be me. I had one before and it has never happened. I’ve only had this for so little of time.

@Annie I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine 😖 Just ask lots of questions before the surgery I hope you’re going with someone you trust And I’m sure everything will be fine

Also have you given any thought to what you’ll do after? Have your partner snipped? Lol

@Monica girl that surgery was hell. Definitely not worth getting an IUD. 😅 I haven’t even thought that far yet. lol Recovery hasn’t been the best. Throwing a cold on top of it was the cherry on top. 😅
