I would hold off, they’re used to their Willy being contained in a nappy and pants will feel similar. We left ours for a week and no accidents
We did 2 days bottomless, a month ‘commando’ then introduced pants. We followed the ‘oh crap potty training’ book & couldn’t recommend it enough, it worked really well. She advises prolonging the ‘commando’ stage as introducing pants too early can potentially trigger them to have accidents as feeling snug around their bottom area can remind them of a nappy. We found it made our little boy absolutely sure he knew the feeling of needing to wee & poo before adding pants
We did pants from day one. The first two days we didn’t have one successful potty. But we’re now 3 weeks in and (touch wood!) no accidents in a week.
Pants from the start. He hates being wet. What’s the point in no pants? They can’t leave the house bottomless?
We did commando over the weekend so it was easy for him to just run and sit on the potty, then pants afterwards. It took him about a week to manage to pull his pants/trousers down (and down far enough) in time. We had loooooads of accidents at first but who knows what that was down to. I think it just is what it is, what’s works for some may not work for others as they’re all so different. Good luck! X
@Pip hey pip, can you offer any advice pls? X 🤞🏼💫 https://www.peanut-app.io/share/slFEJMFqrQb
Commando until he was confident pooing on the potty. About 2-3 weeks total.
We didn’t use pants for about 2 months! Now she wears them fine, never had an accident
I was told to put pants on straight away as if they then wee they don’t like the feeling of it so they’re more likely to want to go on the potty. We’ve not actually started yet so yet to test this theory but it makes sense! X
