Nurses baskets?

I keep seeing on tik tok that everyone makes nurses baskets? Is this a thing now? I don’t have the budget for it honestly but I don’t want them to look down at me because I’m the only mom who didn’t bring them anything???

You can just get some chocolates or nothing.

For my first I just baked cookies and stuck them in the freezer until my delivery date. I think nurses appreciate any gesture, no need to spend a lot. And write a note with your room number on it! Then the nurses after the shift change know who they came from 😁

I recently saw a nurse that said it’s their job and as long as moms say thank you and treat them respectfully that’s all they need 💕

I planned on having stuff but went into labor early so I just made sure to say thank you to everyone each time I saw them

I wrote a card for my L&D nurses, for the postpartum nurses, and the NICU nurses. We also gave them all Texas Roadhouse rolls. That was my request for first food after delivery and we wanted to share 😅

I wasn’t planning on doing a basket. I googled that and it said nurses don’t expect it even though it’s become a trend. If I have a safe labor and felt it was a positive/supportive experience I might come back and bring something.

I’m not doing a basket, with my first birth I was treated poorly so they didn’t deserve anything from me anyway. Even if birthing my second child is better I’m still not doing a basket or any sort of gift. I feel like it’s so popular now that moms who can’t afford it are feeling pressured into doing it anyway.
