Feet rubbing/flapping hands?

Hey mums, my 7-month-old sometimes rubs both of her feet on surfaces like play mats, her bed, and her ball pit. Is this normal? Has anyone else’s baby done this? She doesn’t do it in her highchair, just mostly when sitting on softer surfaces. Just curious if anyone has any insight into what this might mean! Thanks in advance!”

It’s just a sensory experience for her, lots of babies do it!

Absolutely, it's just a sensory stimulation. Babies learn so much through touch and their feet are covered in nerves so it's a really wonderful experience for them! She clearly enjoys feeling different surfaces with her feet so you could set up some stations for her! Fluffy blanket, fake grass, baby foil blanket, sequin matt etc and let her feel them!

@Charlotte That’s such a great idea, I love the thought of setting up sensory stations for her! I’ll definitely try different textures for her to explore. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

@Lauren That makes sense, thanks for reassuring me! It’s good to know lots of babies do it. I’ll just let her explore!
