We don’t see the pedi. Anyone else?

Baby #3 and I’ve realized how unnecessary it is as we don’t do 💉 and have perfectly healthy girls. Only go if they’re extremely ill. I don’t trust these drs!

This is a very controversial topic so be mindful of that

Why don’t you trust doctors? Do you trust them in emergency situations- who will you go to in the event of a tragic accident, heart attack or stroke for example?

People are gonna get nasty. They always do with these types of post.

@M.J apples and oranges. Quit judging this mom.

😂😂😂 why don’t you let moms decide what they want to do with their child.

What is the purpose of going to the doctor if you don’t get shots and don’t have anything concerning to discuss with them? I’ve made my way through well visits with my other kids and it was just us waiting 90% of the time, then having their vitals checked and that’s it. Waste of time. There’s no reason to see a doctor unless you are sick.. and sick to the point where you aren’t getting over it after an extended period of time and having a serious decline in your health. So obviously if there is a near death emergency I’m going to the hospital but again how often does that actually happen? The post was about well visits, I am aware that there are people with opposing views and follow the schedule, you won’t change my mind on this matter. I was just wondering if there were others with the same views is all:) I am a bit surprised to see how little that is though.

I’m mixed My daughter doesn’t have all her shots But she is also t1d so we have to separate them anyways so it helps with the school mandate haha Also I don’t agree with certain shots

@Dory our hospital has had a measles outbreak warning poster up for over a year now 🥲

I’m from the UK. Our kids only go to the doctors if you have specific concerns. We see the nurse for the recommended vaccinations. There are no other regular appointments. I trust the doctors here but sometimes the system in other countries does seem more driven by profit? What country are you in? What are the purpose of the appointments? Do you have to pay for them?

@Parker 又 that’s so sad. 😭

@Andi we do have development checks with the health visitors at certain stages though, would these visits be similar?

I have a friend whose mom did hard drugs while she was pregnant. My friend is a therapist now and total fine so I think we should all do meth while pregnant That’s how fucking stupid you sound

@Haley was it necessary to be so rude?

I just don’t need a doctor to confirm that my baby is healthy and growing well. I think it’s a system that has made mothers doubt their own intuitions to fill doctors pockets. I’m sorry if that pushes anyone’s buttons. If something was up with my kids, I am fully capable of noticing it on my own and then I would go from there.

@Haley that was absolutely hilarious! Interesting point!

I too find being rude absolutely hilarious 😂😂

I agree, Incognito. If baby is healthy why risk going to a doctor’s office where they could be exposed to illness? IMO there is no need for the stress and anxiety. The system seems to be set up for maximum profits , not maximum health. I am thankful for medical professionals in emergencies and perhaps once a year check ins but not for going on a regular basis just because.

Going to a doctor isnt just for getting vaccines though. What if your child has a condition you don’t recognize because it is impossible to tell without tests or it’s too early for severe symptoms to develop?

If you are talking about a baby, it’s quite possible you would have no idea there was a problem. They could have lead poisoning and you wouldn’t know. They could have a UTI and you probably wouldn’t know til they started peeing blood. What if they have a problem that needs early intervention? intentionally avoiding a doctor when you are entirely capable of visiting one is potentially sacrificing your child’s health for your beliefs. A bit weird.

@Baled Potato yes. She is actively putting her kids and others in danger. And that doesn’t even being to cover the damage done by people supporting and promoting anit science nonsense. As a society we have humored this type of stuff for way too long to try to not offend people.

This post isn’t it…. We have vaccines for a reason. Your literally risking a babies life that’s not fully vaccinated yet because they’re steps to getting vaccinated. Hepatitis is an important vaccine they was a multiple hepatitis outbreaks. Polio is another important one, measles, small pox’s all these sickness can kill you and will kill you. I’m usually all about supporting other moms but when moms don’t vaccinate I really think it’s dumb and I think you’re putting your child in danger because of your own beliefs.

You’re all entitled to your own opinions.

Fine. But don’t trust them in emergencies either. Gotta make it even across the board.

I vaccinate and always will. I do find those who don’t to be very ill informed and in general I wouldn’t want to have close friends with different views on big issues like vaccines. I do have a few though and we have just agreed to disagree. So it is possible. Of course their kids get sick all the time and have also gotten Covid like 5-10 times now judt running rampant. They are not very educated so I do see a correlation but that’s just my opinion…

@Haley nah that’s no excuse to be that rude.

If yall were actually respectful more people might listen but I don’t see that happening.

I mean it’s a little silly to assume someone is healthy without actually running any type of tests but lol okie dokie

do you use any forms of alternative medicine like is it a thing with western medicine that makes you feel this way or just in general you don’t think there’s a need to go to the doctor unless there’s signs of an illness or an emergency?

Same my kids go to the pedi for the first 5 months up until it becomes all about vaccines and since we live a vaccine lifestyle post the 5th month they return only once annually for check ups post the year mark . Physicians who I look to for guidance because they are actually licensed in this area have pretty much recommended the same thing in fact it’s how I came to that. If your kids are not vaccinated you’re not doing things in the same manner as many others are and so naturally your path won’t mimic that of others in the same way

@Mia both. I think there are times when western medicine is necessary, like if one has the strep or flu or pneumonia, or something really bad. A fever that has not subsided after a few days and is getting out of control. I’ve been able to manage anything that comes by our household without going to a doctor. Last time we went was for an ear infection about a year ago. I know when some thing is wrong and I know when a doctor is needed.

what type of alternative medicine? (just curious bc i rarely see people who have experience w it as most people seem to prefer western)

I get this local elderberry syrup type mix that I use if my kids ever get sick with a cold and Vicks but other than that I just ride it out and don’t let them consume any sugar or dairy until it subsides. Honey, make lots of hearty meals with organic medicinal herbs and roots like onions celery garlic etc. Pineapple juice, coconut water and water only if sick. But really that’s all they drink either way, just no dairy if sick. Pineapple is an anti inflammatory. They hardly get sick and I truly believe we are what we eat and your diet can make a big difference. We don’t have to go to the doctor every time our kid gets sick, I believe our body builds up immunity on its own by fighting nasty stuff off over time. We have been in the past when they were little and a cough was concerning, but nothing ever actually made it go away and antibiotics would kill an infection, but they get the same thing within a month of being treated. So I no longer go that route unless absolutely necessary.

Anyways, to everyone else, I have perfectly healthy thriving children and if anything you guys were saying was true, we would all basically be dead. Surprise, God gave us the tools to survive. Keep taking medicine and you will stay sick. A company that makes money off of your illnesses would not profit if we never came to see them, they have to keep you sick to stay in business. Doesn’t make a difference to me what you do with your children.

Alot of the appointments aren't to make sure she's healthy it's making sure she growing right and making the milestones for her age , it's fine not wanting to get vocations that just means she won't be able to go to school since the risks of getting sick are so high and puts others at risk

You can get a vaccine exemption through the state. It’s pretty easy, it’s mailed to you, you sign it, get it notarized, and turn it into the school or daycare. Did it when my girls were in daycare for a period while I did school.

I'm just saying it puts them at a risk and others at risk since no vaccines there more of risk

The rest of us also have healthy, thriving children as well (I assume) and a lot of us don’t take our children to the doctor unless necessary either. I can get behind your comments in regards diet and using it as a tool to promote health but diet and supplements alone are not a cure all and for someone that seems to know a thing or two about wellness, it’s surprising you don’t understand the importance of society being vaccinated—as they kinda go hand in hand to prevent those illnesses you’d probably end up taking your child to the doctor you don’t trust for.

My kids all started school without vaccines so it’s not impossible

We go to every visit but we don’t do every vaccine

We are on a very delayed schedule

What vaccines did you skip? @Monica

She wasn’t asking for your stupid opinions on whether to vaccinate or not so literally grow up and mind your own business and if you can’t do that go sit in a corner and stare at the wall. 🥲

My opinion is less is more. The less time you spend in the healthcare system and also the supermarkets, the healthier you will be. Again just MY OPINION.

@Sera Kay ✨ are you ok

@Monét amazing

@Wendy I won’t get into that too much but I will say she has and never will get the flu shot

@Monica thank you for sharing! I was just curious since I’m a first time mom

@Monét clearly not ok 😬

Thank you @Elisha If anyone is interested, I am currently working on compiling all of my controversial research on vaccines into a portfolio to present to those who have conflicting views on the matter. I don’t judge anyone for vaccinating, it’s hard to think otherwise when you’ve never seen the real facts and have been conditioned to believe this is the *way* from child birth. I was not vaccinated growing up nor anyone in my family or siblings. This is how I was brought up. I received some in early childhood and infancy and had alot of health issues. My mom began her own research and stopped all shots for me very early around 3 years of age, and that’s when things looked up. I also attended daycare-12th grade just like any other fully vaccinated child and I did not die nor spread any deadly illnesses. The truth is out there, I’d be happy to share some insights with anyone that is interested.

I have a license and currently working to be registered. I’m never gonna convince someone that healthcare should be *preventative* and not emergency medicine. And this isn’t even about vaccines bc I simply just don’t engage in those topics. You’d just very rarely see someone with education in this field speak of it like how some of you do. It’s unfortunate
